The app is designed to work through your internet browser on your desktop or mobile device.
After trying to edit a photo on the RI Brand Center with my phone and being frustrated with the way it worked, I decided to develop a website that would be easy for myself. After sharing the app with my Rotary District Team Leaders and getting their feedback I decided to release it to all Rotarians.[/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion][vc_tta_section title=”What devices does the app work on?” tab_id=”1622406264900-8e4a7217-468c”][vc_column_text]The POA Photos app works on all mobile and desktop devices that have Chrome, Firefox, Safari, MS Edge, or Opera browsers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Why doesn’t the app work on in-app browsers like Facebook and Instagram?” tab_id=”1622406264910-a5731c69-7ee1″][vc_column_text]In-app browsers typically are smaller, stripped back, versions of full browsers.
They typically block downloading of images and block certain website code from loading. The ‘browsers’ are actually just a WebView window that provides limited browsing functionality, as a sub-process of the app that opened it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What does the app cost?” tab_id=”1622406320164-789c4968-5d65″][vc_column_text]Nothing. That does not mean there is not a future for a downloadable app.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”If I can’t download it to my device, why do you call it an app?” tab_id=”1622406451498-76fa59ca-0833″][vc_column_text]A web application or Rich Internet Applications is a web site that does more than displaying content, it has a business logic. It’s intended for user interactions, performing actual business functions. Compared to websites, i.e. blogs and news sites, web apps provide a richer user experience.
A native mobile app is one that is installed directly on the smartphone and can work, in most cases, with no internet connectivity depending on the nature of the app. A web app works via a web browser on the smartphone but requires either a cell signal or wi-fi to function and may access specific hardware like GPS.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How do I use the app?” tab_id=”1622406508137-a734e910-e231″][vc_column_text]You can find Help and How To videos and tutorials by clicking here.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/xshD1zW2ibw” align=”center”][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_accordion][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][ultimate_heading main_heading=”The Developer”][/ultimate_heading][vc_single_image image=”2276″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Shawn Berry is the owner of N3RD Media a Minnesota-based website design and development firm that provides custom affordable internet-based advertising solutions to small businesses, start-up businesses, and non-profit organizations.

After struggling to use the RI People of Action editor on my mobile phone at a conference, I decided to develop an app for myself. I shared the app with my Rotary District and they liked how easy it was to use, both on mobile and desktop.
