General

iOS 11 - High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIC/HEIF)

iOS 11 introduced a default image format when taking pictures, which is HEIC and HEIF.

These images will not work with the POA Photos App. The only file extensions you will be able to upload are jpg, jpeg, and png.

The other option is to disable HEIC if you’re facing problems. This will force iOS to store all images as JPEG. You can disable HEIC from settings > camera > formats.

Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Image_File_Format

* High-Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF)is a file format for individual images and image sequences. It was developed by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) and is defined by MPEG-H Part 12 (ISO/IEC 23008-12). The MPEG group claims that twice as much information can be stored in a HEIF image as in a JPEG image of the same size, resulting in a better quality image.

Disable Facebook In-App Browser

By default, Facebook for Android opens the link in the in-app browser.

If you want to open the link in your default browser instead of the in-app browser, then you need to disable Facebook in-app browser and here are the steps:

  • Open the Facebook app.
  • Tap Hamburger icon [icon name=”bars” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] at the top.
  • Hit Settings & Privacy > Settings > Media and Contacts.
  • Now, you can see “Links open externally” option. Tap on it.

That’s it. The Facebook in-app browser is disabled successfully, and from now on, the link will be opened in your default browser.

In case, if you want to enable Facebook in-app browser, follow the above steps.
